Adults are common among coral-rich areas of sheltered coastal reefs, with algae and staghorn corals to about 15 m depth, especially around the rock islands in Palau, they aggregate with A. curacao. They spawn in groups and each pair claims a small section of the reef. Dead coral branches serve as nest. Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding.
