Chalices & Pectinias

The family is characterized by thick fleshy, sometimes colorful, polyps with comb-like appearance of the walls, which are often tall, thin and striated.  It is a colonial coral which is partly encrusting and partly forms laminate plates or tiers.  Generally easy to care for, but good water quality is very important for growth and health.
